Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Scale Your Earn website and newsletter. By using the site, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language wherever possible — where we have to use legal language, we try to explain it.
01Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using scaleyourearn.com ("the site", "the journal"), subscribing to our newsletter, or otherwise engaging with our content, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to all readers, subscribers, and contributors. They are in addition to our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, which are incorporated by reference.
02Our content
All content published on Scale Your Earn — essays, reports, analysis, reader guides, data tables, and commentary — is provided for general informational purposes. It reflects the considered views of the editors and contributors at the time of publication, based on the data and sources available to us.
Nothing on the site should be understood as professional financial, legal, tax, investment, or business advice. If you need such advice for your specific situation, you should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
03Accuracy and corrections
We make a genuine effort to report accurately, but published content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. The online income landscape changes quickly, and figures, platforms, and market conditions referenced in our essays may no longer be current at the time you read them.
If you notice an error, please write to corrections@scaleyourearn.com. We correct substantive errors publicly and note the correction on the affected article.
04Acceptable use
When using the site, you agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, server, or associated systems.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to harvest content or submit forms, except for well-behaved public search engines.
- Attempt to disrupt the site through denial-of-service attacks or similar means.
- Impersonate others or submit false information through our forms.
- Use the site in connection with any fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.
- Republish our content in ways that violate our intellectual property rights (see below).
05Third-party links and services
Our essays may contain links to third-party websites, including partner offers clearly marked as sponsored. We do not control these third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or business conduct.
When you follow a link to a partner offer, you leave our site and become subject to that third party's own terms and policies. Please review them before providing any information to that third party or committing to any program.
06Intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, all content on Scale Your Earn — including text, layout, typography, graphics, data visualisations, and code — is owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and related rights.
You may:
- Read, share, link to, and reference our content for personal, non-commercial use.
- Quote short excerpts (up to approximately 150 words) with clear attribution and a link back to the original.
You may not:
- Republish our essays or significant portions of them, in whole or as paraphrased derivatives, without explicit written permission.
- Use our content to train commercial machine-learning models without a separate licensing arrangement.
- Use our name, logo, or visual identity in a way that implies endorsement or association without permission.
For licensing enquiries, please contact editors@scaleyourearn.com.
07Reader contributions and submissions
When you submit content to us — through the contact form, reader surveys, pitches, or contributed essays — you grant Scale Your Earn a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, edit, publish, and attribute that content in connection with the journal. This allows us to quote reader correspondence in essays, aggregate survey responses into reports, and publish accepted contributed pieces.
You retain copyright in your submissions. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit whatever you send us, and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
08Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components, though we make reasonable efforts to maintain all of these.
09Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scale Your Earn, its editors, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the site, including lost profits, lost savings, business interruption, or loss of data.
This limitation applies whether the claim is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In jurisdictions where such limitations are not permitted, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law.
10Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scale Your Earn and its editors from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the site or its content.
11Termination
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the site for anyone who violates these terms, including blocking IPs associated with abusive traffic. We also reserve the right to remove or archive content at any time.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Scale Your Earn is based, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction for any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the site, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own jurisdiction.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.
